Balmoral ‘Connections and Collections’ Festival
Come and join us on the 31st October through to the 2nd November on an artistic and cultural journey where you will be dazzled by sensational sculptural installations, dynamic art works, local and world music, a brilliant Quality Market and watch how our rural, remote township comes alive through celebrating their pride of place.

Cost: $10 adult / $5 student (includes regional hors d’oeuvres and wine)
Over 40 artists of varying disciplines will showcase their works at the fourth Chameleon Arts Collective Inc. mixed media Art exhibition in the Southern Grampians Region.
The $500 Mabel Cameron Art Prize will be awarded on the night and is to be judged by Adam Harding, Horsham Regional Art Gallery, Collections Curator.
Come and enjoy the visual treats created by renowned and aspiring artists, while accomplished violinist Rahel Bunge and pianist David Schulz weave their magic in a relaxed environment at the Balmoral High School Hall.

Quality market
When arriving at the festival site you will see many flying fish windsocks made by all members of the community. Start the festival by looking at hand crafted wares and sampling a range of delicacies from the region including wines, beer, cream teas, ice-cream, lovely crème coffee.
At evening time you will be able to indulge in an array of rotisserie meats, curries, and regional bush tucker.
Workshops in drumming, printmaking, painting, mask making for all who enjoy being creative. A range of other activities such as jewellery making, face painting, storytelling and clay will also be available.
Environmental issues will be addressed at the Festival throughout the day by local organizations such as the Glenelg Hopkins CMA and Fisheries. Discussions including the health of river, water catchment, the plight of the Red tailed Cockatoo and drought are some of the topics that may be addressed. Hands on activities for children, prizes on the day.
Writer’s forum
Balmoral Mechanics Hall
1:00pm - 3.30pm
Cost: $10 Adult/$5 Student
Our writer’s forum will be held in the gym where our local, emerging writer Sabrina Watt has invited three accomplished authors, as well as other local identities in an afternoon’s forum where the writers can share their journeys with us. We hope that the afternoon will be fairly informal so all budding writers and lovers of a good tale can come together and share their stories.

Be amazed by the talents of our local and regional musicians. Acts include well known Irish folk band Bahn Tre’, who will entertain with tunes sure to get the toes tapping. Let the children be captivated by Theatre Troupe - Cubby House Productions. Plus the music of many more local and regional entertainers, whom we all know and love from previous festivals.

Come relish history and be surprised at just what people treasure and passions they collect. Featuring collections recently displayed at Victoria Museum. Collectors will be in attendance to talk about their collections.

People come together to celebrate ‘Connections and Collections’.
Local musicians will entertain Festival attendees in a relaxed final morning of fun, food and art.
